Toyota Officially Launches Aygo X, Tiny Crossover with Myriad Features

Toyota launched the All New Toyota Aygo X in Europe. Although the design is small, the Toyota Aygo X carries advanced features and technology in it.

Quoted from Carscoops, the presence of the All New Aygo X is the successor of the Aygo type which was first launched in 2005. At that time Toyota collaborated with Citroen and Peugeot who were members of the PSA Group to create a city car.

The second generation of the Ayugo was then launched in 2014. However, there are no significant changes made by Toyota. Only later in this latest generation, Toyota presents the Aygo X which is more radical and different from the previous model.

"Segment A is an important segment for us. It not only brings new customers to Toyota, but also fulfills our mission to provide mobility solutions for everyone," said Andrea Carlucci as Vice President Product & Marketing Toyota Motor Europe.

The Toyota Aygo X was developed from the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA)-B platform such as the Toyota Aqua and Toyota Yaris Cross. This makes the design of the Agyo X look fierce and more sturdy.

Carrying tires with a size of 17 or 18 inches and an increased ground clearance of 11 mm, the Aygo X looks more capable even though it is a city car. In terms of dimensions, the All New Aygo X has a length of 3,700 mm, a width of 1,740 mm, a height of 1,525 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,430 mm

.

The latest Aygo X has brought full LED headlights and taillights with a modern graphic display. In addition, the shape of the side windows adds a sporty impression to this vehicle.

Toyota carries a number of color choices that are quite bold for the Aygo X. A number of colors that consumers can choose from include Cardamon, Chilli, Ginger, and Juniper.

Looking at the interior, the Aygo X is dominated by black color combined with a touch of color according to the exterior color of the car.

Not only that, Toyota also carries several features in its infotainment, such as a 9-inch touch screen that is integrated with Toyota Smart Connect. Aygo X has also brought Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, software updates via Over the Air (OTA), and cloud-based navigation.

The latest technology that is also embedded in the Aygo X is Toyota Safety Sense (TSS).

Toyota Safety Sense on the Aygo X has a number of excellent features such as Pre-Collision System (PCS), Day and Night Pedestrian Detection, Daytime Cyclist Detection, Collision Mitigation Support, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Trace Assist, and Emergency Steering Assist.

Regarding the engine, the Aygo X is equipped with a 1.0 L three-cylinder engine capable of producing 71 hp of power and 93 Nm of peak torque. The Aygo X engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission or an automatic S-CVT that flows to the front wheels.

Regarding the acceleration, there is nothing special about this Aygo X. To reach speeds from 0 to 100 km per hour it takes up to 15.6 seconds, while the top speed of this car is at 158 km per hour.

Toyota will sell the Aygo X in the European automotive market first starting in 2022. The company has also not announced the official price, but it is predicted that it will be revealed ahead of its market launch.
